Harper Corporation of America announced that Darris Smith has joined the Harper GraphicSolutions Team.
Smith brings with him more than 40 years of experience in the graphics industry, including 18 years as a press operator in flexography and offset. He is well-versed in operating narrow web, wide web C.I., and sheet fed presses in both the packaging and pharmaceutical industries. In addition, he has spent time in color matching, plate making and supervisory roles.
Prior to joining Harper, Smith spent 25 years with Environmental Inks/Siegwerk and progressed through multiple roles, including color matcher, QC technician, customer service, in-plant manager, on-site consultant and technical service manager. This experience provided him with the opportunity to serve alongside many other industry vendors and hone his troubleshooting and team building abilities. Furthermore, during his time at the Robinette Company in Bristol, TN, he found his niche in process printing and was part of several teams that earned FTA awards.
Smith will be leveraging his comprehensive background and skills to assist Harper customers in the Southeast region by providing technical services such as anilox roll audits, troubleshooting, banded roll trials, training seminars, and all areas of press room support.
