Eliokem has named Robert Smith plant manager for its Akron manufacturing facility. Mr. Smith succeeds Jarry Persinger, who served as plant manager since 1962 and has retired after more than 40 years of service with the company.
“We are pleased to have someone of Bob’s technical capability and who is already intimately familiar with the facility to succeed Jarry as plant manager,” said Olivier Faussadier, general manager, Eliokem. “We are confident that he will excel in his new position, increase the employee empowerment mindset as well as build on the manufacturing and safety improvements we have made to date.”
Mr. Smith was previously technical manager at the Akron plant and played a pivotal role during the company’s transition from Goodyear Chemical in 2001 to an independent organization. Mr. Smith, who has more than 27 years experience in chemical engineering and chemical processing, will oversee all manufacturing at this 112,000 square foot facility.
