Sartomer Company, Exton, PA, has been awarded the Pennsylvania Governor’s Export Excellence Award for the large manufacturing category (total sales greater than $50 million).
The award honors Pennsylvania companies that have achieved excellence in reaching global markets with their products and services. During the three-year span evaluated by the awards committee, Sartomer’s export sales increased by 35 percent.
Sartomer’s recent global activities include the acquisition of two Akzo Nobel specialty methacrylate monomer product lines; the acquisition of Rohm and Haas’ Uvithane oligomers; and the formation of its new specialty polymers group. Sartomer first expanded globally as part of a joint venture in Japan, and currently has offices in China, Japan and Brazil, as well as a branch in Singapore.
“Sartomer prides itself on our global focus, and we continually strive to provide the best products and services to customers worldwide,” said Nick Trainer, president of Sartomer. “We are honored to be the recipient of the Pennsylvania Governor’s Export Excellence Award, and we thank the state of Pennsylvania and the manufacturing community for their recognition and support.”
