Mimaki Europe, provider of industrial inkjet printers, 3D printers, and cutting plotters, has announced the launch of two new UV technology, the UJV100-160Plus and UCJV330-160. These new UV printers extends the company’s 100 and 300 series product ranges.
Both UV printers offer low power consumption and add enhanced technology to each range providing customers with sustainable, productive, profitable, and versatile, solutions.
“The pressing need to be more sustainable, as well as the recent pressured associated with raising energy prices, has accelerated the industry-wide need to adopt UV technology,” said general sales manager Arjen Evertse. “UV printing requires considerably less energy throughout the printing process than other technologies, not least due to the fact that UV-LED inks cure instantly. This both improves the printer’s environmental impact but also saves on production costs and delivery times.”
The UJV100-160Plus is an enhanced model for Mimaki’s entry-level series, and the UCJV330-160 is an added UV technology solution for the advanced level 330 series.
Both UV print solutions are compatible with Mimaki’s new cloud-based printer status monitoring tool PICT. PICT is available to download and has been designed to improve efficiency of customers’ production management and print operations. With PICT Customers can monitor operational status and printer performance for their PC or mobile device.
Mimaki’s UJV100-160Plus has enhanced efficiency and new functions with low power consumption. According to the company, the printer consumes less than half of the power of eco-solvent and latex/resin printers. At 0.5kW the 100-160Plus reduces running costs and CO2 emissions.
With RasterLink7 software, the UJV100-160Plus has a new ink saving function to maintain color balance while reduce ink usage by up to 50%. Also included is a “pull-back printing function”, which pulls back the printing substrate to enable 3-layers of printing to enhance graphics or create different finishes.
UJV100-160Plus also seamlessly links with Mimaki’s CG-AR cutting plotter series, enabling users to output cut data directly to the plotter from RasterLink7.
The UCJV330-160 integrated printer/cutter offers high-speed, high-quality printing while maintaining low power consumption offering improved productivity and image quality fort sign graphics applications. It runs at a speed of 28m2/h for a four-color configuration or 182/h for white and clear inks. With newly developed ink ejection technology, the printer reduces color irregularities in high density areas.
This printer was designed with application and media flexibility to support the transition to non-PVC, more environmentally friendly substrates. The variety of substrates compatible include PU (polyurethane), PET, and other resin films, paper (including uncoated), and cloth. The UCJV330-160 also offers 2.5D print, watermarks and 5-layer printing.
Mimaki’s UCJV330-160 is also an integrated printer/cutter to produce decals, stickers and labels, and equipped with advanced features for contour cutting.
Evertse added, “at Mimaki, we are committed to supporting the move to UV to ensure more sustainable, efficient print production, future proofing the business of our valued customers and of course, ensuring we are working towards improving sustainability for all our sakes. The UJV100-160Plus and UCJV330-160 are the latest results of our efforts to expand the UV printing options available to print service providers, whilst also delivering the unparalleled benefits that are synonymous with Mimaki technologies,”
