HP Inc. announced that Vikrant Batra will succeed Antonio Lucio as its chief marketing officer (CMO). HP also announced the promotion of Karen Kahn, chief communications officer and head of communications, corporate brand and events to the executive leadership team. Both Batra and Kahn will report to CEO Dion Weisler. Lucio plans to leave HP on Aug. 31, 2018.
Batra was most recently global head of marketing for HP’s $19 billion Imaging and Printing group, and previously led marketing globally for the company’s $33 billion Personal Systems group.
“The appointments are symbolic of the deep bench of talent within our marketing and communications organizations,” said Weisler. “Vikrant is an incredible marketing strategist and artisan with a unique perspective in turning insights into brilliant work. And Karen is a best-in-class corporate reputation leader who is connecting HP to the economic, cultural and social issues of our time.”
Batra has more than 20 years of experience in worldwide marketing and advertising across consumer packaged goods, utilities, finance and technology. He is an award-winning creative and marketing strategist and is the architect behind some of HP’s most transformative and thought-provoking campaigns.
Kahn joined HP in 2015, and is the communications architect for HP’s reinvention, supporting its return to relevance, operational leadership and performance in PC, Print and 3D printing.
Before joining HP, Kahn served as VP of corporate marketing and communications at Broadcom. Prior to this, she served as VP of global communications at Sun Microsystems/Oracle.
