International Imaging Materials, Inc. (IIMAK), a global leader in the development and manufacturing of printing, imaging and marking consumables, is now an official distributor of Tyvek, DuPont’s latest in tough, durable barrier technology, in Brazil and Mexico.
“IIMAK forged a distribution relationship with DuPont Tyvek because it fits well within IIMAK’s converting capabilities and sales channels to Latin American and Brazilian label converters,” says Scott Surma, vice president of new business development at IIMAK. “Many of our customers already buy Tyvek, and we can now offer the ability to consolidate their supply base by combining orders with thermal transfer ribbons and related products -- such as nylon and self-wound over laminated films -- while leveraging our best-in-class customer service. We’re proud to be joining forces with such a prestigious company and strong brand DuPont Tyvek.”
Tyvek can replace paper, fabric and plastic in the production of promotional materials, books, giveaways, clothes, bags, tags and labels. Tyvek is also suitable for banners, posters, manuals, textbooks, children's books, recipe books, technical manuals and envelopes, as well as reusable shopping bags, gym bags, backpacks, shoes, jackets and covers.
“The material is composed of 100% high-density polyethylene fibers, and its structure is formed by filaments arranged in multiple directions, making it exceptionally strong and tear resistant,” Audrey Kompier, director of marketing for IIMAK Brazil adds. “Tyvek is waterproof, it’s 50% lighter than paper, it’s breathable, it’s washable and it’s 100% recyclable. Tyvek is ideal for printing with digital printers and plotters for small and wide formats, and for conventional printing technologies such as offset, flexographic, screen printing and thermal transfer ribbons, which IIMAK manufacturers and distributes.”
