EY has announced that president and CEO Scott Becker of Chromaflo Technologies Corp., one of the leading independent global suppliers of colorant systems, chemical and pigment dispersions, received the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2014 Award in the Distribution & Manufacturing category in Northeast Ohio.
The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Becker was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a special gala event at the Cleveland Convention Center on June 26, 2014.
“It’s an honor to be recognized, but this award really symbolizes the willingness of our employees, investors, and lenders to support the vision of being the premier global supplier of colorant technologies,” said Becker.
Chromaflo has become a leading US colorant producer through a strong focus on customer satisfaction combined with an ability to acquire complementary businesses. In 2012 and then again in 2013, Chromaflo enhanced its global footprint through both acquisition and merger. Prior to that, Becker had been serving as president of Plasticolors, Inc., founded in 1970. It was Becker’s vision to take the growing thermoset business to the next level by entering the coatings marketplace in the late 90’s. Following that leadership, the company’s successful implementation of coatings products eventually led to the creation of Chromaflo as a global leader in colorants for both developed and emerging markets.
