Rohm and Haas Offers New Dispersing Resins

Rohm and Haas recently introduced two high-efficiency dispersing resin products for organic pigments in aqueous media. These new styrene, acrylic-based polymers, Morcryl 410 and Morcryl 460 Plus dispersing resins, allow increased pigment loadings at higher pigment to binder rations without compromising color density and viscosity stability. Supplied in liquid form, Morcryl 410 and 460 Plus allow printers to control performance no matter what kind of process they run. The products enable broader compatibility with pigment types and other additives including conventional and neutral letdowns. DSM NeoResins Launches NeoRez U-471

DSM NeoResins has introduced NeoRez U-471, a new member to its range of elastomeric solvent-based urethanes. NeoRez U-471 is an elastomeric solvent-based urethane suitable for printing using flexographic or gravure printing techniques, on a wide range of packaging film substrates. This product is tin-free and contains a non-aggressive (mild) solvent. In addition, its combination of aliphatic building blocks, excellent pigment wetting and high bond strengths in packaging film laminates means this product can be used to formulate inks which pass sterilization and pasteurization treatments. Tego Offers Airex Deaerator For Water-Based Inks

Tego Coating and Additives and Specialty Reins has introduced Tego Airex 904 W, a new deaerator designed to eliminate micro-foam in clear and pigmented wood, architectural and industrial water-based coatings. It combines good compatibility with increased effectiveness for use in acrylic, styrene acrylic, vinyl and EVA emulsions, polyurethane dispersion and acrylic-urethane hybrid systems. Airex 904 W, a liquid polyester siloxane copolymer containing fumed silica, is supplied 100% active as a concentrate.  More info: Tego Coating and Ink Additives, (800) 446-1809; web: www.evonik.com.

Sartomer Offers New Hyperbranched Oligomers

Sartomer Company has launched CN2302 and CN2304 high functionality hyperbranched oligomers with excellent weathering and wear properties for ink and coating applications. CN2302 and CN2304 are highly branched three-dimensional materials that differ structurally from the linear and lightly branched products typically used in radiation-cured systems. Benefits of the oligomers included abrasion resistance, low viscosity for formulating latitude, low shrinkage and good adhesion  and fast cure response. Union Process Launches New Production Mill

Union Process has produced a new production-sized small media mill for the ink, coatings and paint markets. The DMQ-10 combines the best features of a traditional horizontal small media mill with the added benefits of circulation grinding. The result is a versatile mill capable of providing a cost-effective, size reduction solution for grinding large quantities of material. Although the DMQ Series is able to operate in either circulation or continuous mode, using the mill for circulation grinding offers some unique benefits, including a narrower particle size distribution, the ability to continuously monitor the slurry and the ability to sample or add ingredients to the premix tank at any time. Troy Launches Troysan 1050

Troy Corp. has introduced a water-based bactericide, Troysan 1050, designed to inhibit the growth of microorganisms on coated surface. This new products is useful for imparting bacterial resistance to surfaces as measured by a significant reduction in the average bacteria counts found on the surface. Troysan 1050 is a BIT-based dispersion product intended to be a cost effective alternative to silver-based compounds. It has no solvents, no VOC and no formaldehyde. More info: Troy Corp.
